I am looking for a drop plate to fit a towball to my series 1

The chassis has 4 equal spaced and sized bolts through it, currently I have a plant pin hitch I would like to replace.

I don't think I need the traditional under crossmember bit

Have you tried ebay they sell tow bar drop plates on there only about £15 all in.

Yup, Unfortunatly I have not seen one with the right fixing holes.

The S1 rear cross member does not have the two larger towball holes in it just the 4 smaller holes attached to which is the tow jaw.

The S1s usually had a towball plate bolted below the cross member into which a towball would be attached. I however went to fit an ALKO towball which needs more clearance between the ball and crossmember (60mm) so I can tow the caravan.

I think I have coerced the wife to go to Bieulieu next Sunday for a trip to the auto jumble
