The seats that are in our 1980 s3 88" SW are not what left the factory in there. I'm not quite sure what they started life in, but I suspect a high-spec Metro. They're pale grey velour, saggy and grubby, but they are fairly comfy. The passenger side has adjustable lumbar support, and both backs tip forward, so they obviously came out of a three-door. The lever for the seat backs is on the inside edge, so - with the lumbar, I guess they've been swapped side-to-side to fit the adjusters (inside edge) to the runners, which seem original.
So - given that they're rather unlovely, what are my options? The central midget-perch, shorn of the matching cut-down back-seat cover it was wearing, is black vinyl, not totally plain - vertical welded pleats - and fairly presentable. The rear side-facing benches are black vinyl, but I'm missing one base cushion and one strap.
I'm 6'2", 'erself is a foot shorter, so adjustability is vital. Budget approval is unlikely for really major expenditure...
