I have a series 3 early one that has seat mounts that are flat no frames fitted not like the later series 3 ones can I fit the deluxe seats in place of the square ones I have the straps that fit under the seats to the seat box but what stops just sliding forward other than my weight on them

Just your weight stops them. Mine dont seem to move very much when put in the right place (i.e. pushed right back)

I believe the seat base should be screwed to the seatbox cover plate, which is then heldm in place by the little clasp thinggy on the front of the seatbox. At least thats how mine is set up.

the manuals are are not clear on this it shows the series 3 seat frames but not the earlier version of my landys a odd ball as its a 2a on the bulkhead plate 2a fittings underneath and the rest is series 3 first reg 1970.

Iv'e just put a couple of small L shaped brackets that stand up about 1/2" to prevent the bases sliding forward. Did this years ago to appease a picky MOT man.
