Sorted out the brakes, calipers refurbished, flex brake pipes replace etc etc... now back to some bodywork.

Can I ask if there is sealer added between panels such as where the tunnel bolts to the sills (basically down the middle of the foot wells if I have used the wrong terminology ) and if there is a sealer what do you recommend? I assume there must to stop water etc..?

Thanks in advance for all the continued help the rebuild is more than I expected but I guess I'm not the first or the last to say that!

On the classics of that vintage there was no seal. you could use 1cm foam tape and run a line around the bottom of tunnel.

The book method removing the gearbox for the clutch is to remove the heater, the seats, life the transmission tunnel cover and remove it through the door. The tunnel cover was not seam sealed for maintenance access.

i'm going with the 1cm foam tape method !
