Hello Range Rover experts

I have just bought a 2007 3.8TDV8 HSE with 55K miles, FSH, it drives well but I have noticed that if a put my foot down hard there is quite alot of blackish smoke produced. The engine pulls well and the car was sold with a warranty, the engine does not smoke on idle and never having owned a ranger rover before I didnt know if this was usual?

Any advice greatly received.

Sounds like its spent its life in the slow lane. Give it a good thrashing and all will be well.
