Just wondering if anyone has fitted rock sliders to there classic, I'm after some for my '88 classic and wondered if anyone had built there own? where did you start, what material, what type of mount points? etc surely they can't be that difficult to knock together!!

i've seen them on a disco, same chassis so may fit rangie with a bit of tweaking, check out the ads in lro or something

In a moment of spontinaity after my last post i went out with pen, paper and tape measure, figure i'm going to have a go at some diy ones, the ones i've seen advertised seem to fit onto the chassis out riggers so should be solid enough to jack from, i'm going to make them out of 4 x 2 box probably (i've got it lying round) and its just shy of 1/4" thick wall and then use some 2" angle iron for the brackets (i've got it lying round too), just crank the mig up to max and away we go!! will post plans and pics once complete (well i'm hardly going to post pics as i go and then go and fall at the last hurdle!!)
