ive got a 300tdi d1 and ive noticed today that the revs are surging at around 2000rpm any ideas what this could be any help would be appreciated

By surging, do you mean that you are feeling more power at 2000rpm? If so, this could be something to do with the way the turbo is adjusted (???)

sorry have'nt explained properly, when im just takin it steady at just below 2000rpm, the revs seem to go up and down, not much maybe 150rpm at the most, like its pulsing, it only does it at this rev range, but i also have a great hole in my flexipipe on my exhaust, will this have anything to do with the problem thanks joe

tell us a bit more about the car... year and gearbox type may help here!

In the mean-time though checking fuel filter, lift pump and sedimentor would be a good place to start. Unless you come back and say it's an auto with EDC!

sorry its an 96 auto it only seems to be doing it at 40 mph at 2000rpm i also put some diesel injector cleaner in about a week ago could it have dragged a bit of **** into one of injectors thanks joe

solved the problem burst intercooler pipe thank god it wasnt owt serious
