hi guys, can anyone advise me on what wire is the live to the reversing light ie green purple, green brown,its on a disco td5. thanks in advance.

Turn ignition on, engage Reverse., stick tongue on end of both wires, When yu get a shock yu've found the reversin wire. Or use a multimetre.

maybe a better explenation, I need to splice into the reversing light live wire, I dont have a multimeter, just thought I might get a sensible answer lol,if anyone has a sensible answer I would be very grateful.

look in Rave - or Q's and A's for the circuit diagrams - that will tell you the colour code of the wire.



or if you are to lazy to do that try the green/brown.

Yu could try looking to see what colour wire is going to the Reverse lamp??

tried that red, the wires go into the back of the light cluster then thats the last i can see of them, have checked Q&As someone said green/purple jus want to be sure before chopping into the wiring.

Cut into the insulation but don't cut the wire. and then get a lightbulb holder with a bulb in it. put one wire to earth and the other wire onto the bared wire That way if yu get the wrong one yu won't have cut the wron wire

just stick a pin in the coloured wire you want to check and use a lightbulb!

I prefer to use a power probe.

had an idea what one it was,-green brown manual said green purple so bought a power brobe and did it that way, thanks guys for the sarcasim and the help!
