Hi all. My L322 4.2 2006 reversing camera won't switch on when reverse is selected. I've gone into the diagnostic screen and checked the video input from the camera which is fine. The problem is the reverse input is not changing when reverse is selected. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

Hi Mark, yes lights come on. Also the rear wiper works if reverse is selected, so it's getting an input from somewhere, it's just not changing on the input screen. Cheers

Have you recently replaced anything in that area of the dash or added anything that may have knocked a fitting or electronic plug?
These things have sensitive plugs that run on small levels of current and can sometimes cause problems.....
 
Hi Mark, it hasn't worked since I bought the car the camera was faulty so I fitted a new one. The camera is fine now, just the reverse gear input is missing. Is it worth taken the dash off to get at the back of the touchscreen and check any plugs etc? Cheers
 
By the sounds of it you have a signal for reverse as you say lights and wiper are activated!!. I would go back to the camera also and it may be worth checking behind the screen just incase, have you done any work there behind the dash?
 
I haven't done any work behind dash, but someone else may of in the past will try and take a look this weekend many thanks and will keep you posted if I find anything

Hi, the reverse gear brings the reverse lights on and turns the reverse wiper on ok, just not getting the reverse input to the display.
How do you know if the config has been over-written? Cheers
