Hi Folks,

I have recently replaced my gearbox and as such fitted and new reverse sensor (AMR3918). Selecting all gears is fine (Although 2nd-3rd when warm is a bit tight) including reverse but I have noticed my reverse lights and parking sensors are not coming on while reversing. I have to ram the selector right back to get them on but when I let go of selector it moves slightly back knocking the lights and sensors off again. Any ideas what I can do to fix.

Thanks,

Shane

fit the switch without using the washer or put a thinner washer under it... the internal mechanism of gearbox doesnt actuate well... jamesmartin is the man who can explain better

Hi Shane, if you're having trouble with selecting gears as well as the reverse lights not working, it sounds to me like you might need to adjust the bias plate, at the base of the gear lever.

Here's a 'how to' from Rave, the Land Rover workshop manual:

Hi biglad

Selecting gears is fine. Just noticed the parking sensors weren'tcoming on and the other night was my first time driving at night and noticed the reverse lights weren't coming on also. Had the reef the selector back to get them to work.
