Maybe like those shiny wire pan scrubbers, if you were able to get a few and stretch them out and connect them somehow

When I took ownership of the P38 I replaced the filter foam in the scuttle panel with LR part. Lasted all of 2 years before it crumbled.. bought a sheet of pond filter foam cut to size 4 years later still going strong
