Howdy!

about to replace all the spings in my defender, however, the spring clamps I have are dreadful, and the last time I tried it I almost lose some fingers.. What are the best clamps for doing this job?

Is there a step by step guide anywhere?

You won't need spring clamps .

Just jack up and support chassis on axle stands,
support axle on a trolley jack and undo shockers
Lower trolley jack and axle will drop leaving enough room to remove springs without having to compress them.

Yer biggest problem will be undoing/cutting off all the fixings. Get new nuts and bolts before you start.

Genius! I tried to do it last week with clamps and I almost lost my fingers. I'll order up the nuts n bolts etc. and have a bash next weekend. Thanks very much.
