Mine has the 2 buttons missing so bought a replacement one from Ebay

Do i just prise the old one apart, lift the board out, slot that into the new casing and away I go?

It surely wont unsync anything?

Does the blade just pull out as per a YouTube video I seen?

Or do I need to do anything else?

Nope, just as you described, the key blade can be a little reluctant but will pop out.
