Hi

My latest P38 has light tinted windows all round which are fairly scratched. What's the best way to get the adhesive off once the film has been peeled back?

The first one I took off I softened the glue with white spirit and then used a window scraper, but don't fancy doing that on the rear windscreen with the demist wires.

Any ideas?

razor blade scrapper with new blade and no heat. Then use a rag with a solvent to wipe it all down. Then use glass cleaner

I had to remove the tints from the front windows of my Range Rover. Homebase sell a product called 'Sticky Stuff Remover'. You still have to scrub a bit but it does a very good job of breaking down the glue and much more preferable to white spirit.

Hi guys
I tint windows for a living as well as detailing, use heat gun to heat old tint prior to removal, all adhesive should then come away with the old film. Use plastic razor blade to remove any left.
When tinting new windows use a good film and best of luck with doing it, I do it day in and day out and still get problems sometimes, if you need help just shout

has anyone tried fitting their own window tints? Is the film you can buy online the same quality as the pros use?

In a word NO
You can buy pro quality online but be carfull cos you might just end up buying crap at a high price
Try buying from somone that fits it as they should use decent stuff
