I have a 04 td4 facelift freelander. I need to change a main beam bulb and also adjust it (currently showing the road 4 ft in front of the car). The cabin control u/s.. I have found threads saying that a spanner and screwdriver can help get to bottom fixing. I can't even find it! Will I really have to remove the bumper? Any advice?

To change a bulb and adjust the alignment you don’t need to remove the headlight

The bulb holders are pretty ropey, so allow the bulb to fit in a very undefined location. This is probably the reason why the main beam is low, unless the dip is very low too.

could it be the control switch so you can lower your head lights when you are towing

Hi Hodge and Teddywood thanks for the ideas. Bulb refitting sorted low main beam. No power to the headlamp height adjuster. Poss replace?
Thanks guys you have made a wife very happy. She suggested the bulb not being in properly and now wants to get muddy.
