Hi guys, looking for some technical advice regarding the remote fob/unlocking system, when I bought the car last year the fob supplied didn't work, I've tried the usual stuff like new battery and checking the solder on the battery holder which made no difference, I've tried replacing the receiver unit that sits on the speedo binnacle, again no difference, I tried a new fob from remotekey.com which came with a programmer that plugs into the socket in the passenger footwell, again nothing worked, I then had the car in my local LR garage to get a new key transponder coded and they informed me they would need to re-code the fob too, I explained that the fob didn't work so they had a look and offered me a new fob for £60, unfortunately they said it wouldn't link to the car's system and that it needed further investigation, now I'm reluctant to get a dealer to do this as their hourly rates are horrendous and being Land Rover i don't expect any faulty part to be cheap so can anyone with experience of a Freelander electrical system particularly the remote unlocking system give me a clue as to which components may be at fault here?, any help appreciated as usual.
Cheers.

Maybe check yellow pages for a local car spark. Sounds like the receiver ain't receiving.
