Hi all,
Sorry to ask but I cannot find a definitive answer in RAVE or my workshop manual in searches here or on the interweb.

Since the fuel hose between the filler-neck and the tank was replaced some little while ago I have had difficulty in passing water fuel into the tank on fill-ups. The pumps (various filling stations) all keep shutting off as if there is a back-flow and the pump thinks my tank is full it isn't; (and this behaviour happens at all levels of the tank and whenever I try to put fuel in).
Refuelling wasn't like this before the hose was replaced, and I cannot find any references to a "vent-hose" that ensures no "blowback" when refuelling. I am stumped.

The replaced hose just went from the bottom of the filler neck assembly to the tank spigot, and there was nothing obvious in that area.

All help gratefully received.

There is an anti siphon valve that may have been refitted incorrectly if memory serves me correct.

I think ratherthan venting the vapour is trapped in something containing activated charcoal and then sucked into the intake and burnt when running. I cannot recall what the thing is called though.

There is a flap thing in the moulded filler tube, it's right at the end where the short rubber hose fits.

According to my RAVE there's a separate breather hose on diesel & petrol versions. EVAPS version has other pipes as well.

Diesel & petrol sections both contain the same "Service Repair No - 19.55.07"

Has it developed over time?
There are enough vents to stop the fuel rushing up the pipe and doing the cut off of the petrol pump.

I have been looking and I know you replaced the bottom pipe.

It has to be a venting issue. You may have to find them and blow them through but some seem to have roll over valves in so maybe gentle with the air;)

Anyway there seems to be an "anti trickle" valve (to stop you getting that extra galleon) I wonder;).

Or you could always stop showing off chucking 200quids worth and just stand there pretending and just trickle in a tenner:D.
