Standard td5 2003 Disco 2, where can you safely attach recovery gear to the front? Do you have to lose the go faster plastic?

The loop that sticks out below the left hand headlight. It is intended as a recovery point (when the vehicles were delivered from the factory they were protected by a bit of plastic mesh to stop them being used as tie down points)
They're meant to be rated for kinetic recovery, but I'm not sure I'd risk that. Should be OK for straight pulls though.
