Hi
Problem with rear window.
First window would not drop on opening the rear door. Alarm beep on locking.
Tried closing the window using the switch.
Window dropped and would not move.
Thinks recalibration. Followed the sequence. Now 3 bleeps on trying the switch. Repeated the sequence 6 times with the same result. Thinks roof switch checks and taped in closed position. removed door panel and can't see any broken cables ect
I am concerned about security as I park in the street. The door lock mechanism works and locks on the fob.
What do I do or have I screwed it completely?
 
3 dr soft 3 dr hard 5dr model. If your referring the tail gate window drop via fob this is normal. To return the window back up the tail gate window needs the ignition key in the lock and turn right fully until window up when the doors closed. The main console toggle switch on the dash is the same as the doors for up and down so if this fails you can use the cubby box version or the door card ones too. To recalibrate disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and when connecting the tail gate will drop normally.
 
Hi. 3 door. 04 TD4. The window wont work wit the fob or key. Just noticed that the cabin lights are on all the time even when locked. Disconnected the battery for at least 45mins (need a tea and a cigarette). Prior to attempting recalibration.
 
Cabin light being on tell you a lock is open or a sensor switch for the rear hard top not locking in. Have a look at the rear if you removed at some point
 
It the window mech is OK then probably the door lock mech, especially if the light not going out. Common fault unfortunately so check out ebay for replacement or order new.
 
Ta Problem is with the glass down I cannot get to the lock to replace it. I have a replacement in the tool box.
Now I am getting 4 bleeps. At least it locks but with a big hole where the glass should be.
Another problem just pulled outside handle off. Big rust hole behind it.

Doh!
Another common fault unfortunately. You can repair it with M6 spouting bolts and lots of epoxy. If Landyzone would repair the search facility and 'Your Threads' link I could link you to one of my threads where I did this. In fact I've done it on four boot door handles now.
As for the window, did you try disconnecting the battery? If you did and still no joy you might have to unbolt it from the regulator.
 
Shame about the link. At the moment I need all the help I can get but the handle is next on the to do list
Tried the battery when attempting to recalibrate the window. I cant get to the clips that hold the glass to the mechanism. First thing I tried.
 
Thanks to all of you for all of your help. I used a bit of everybody's suggestions + a wife with ultra small hands. She loosened off the glass clamps and took the glass out. The hardest bit was taking the heater connections off. We replaced the latch mechanism. This allowed us to move the window clamps. Tightened the glass clamps and 2hrs, 4 cups of tea and five cigarettes later worked!!! The only thing now is to replace the handle and patch the rust hole.

Well done getting the window closed. Here are a few photos of the handle repair.
First clean up the hole as best you can, cover the rust with rust converter and paint.
Then with some cheap Poundland 5 minute epoxy or similar do something like below.

A few nuts and washers and your golden. ;)
 
I just found pics from the last handle I did where I used the epoxy. You have to be careful to get the angle of the bolts right and also don't get any epoxy on the threads. Use tape or tape and card to make enclosures to stop the epoxy flowing where you don't want it. On the first three I did I used strong silicone sealant but it took days to harden properly so the epoxy is much handier.
