Hey guys,

New to the forum and have to say that there is some really helpful advise on here. I'm hoping I can get some of the same for my little issue.

Long story short I took a corner a little too quick and one of my linkages has disconnected itself and broken into two parts (The ball at the top is still connected to the roll bar and the rest still connected to the suspension arm).

I thought okay no problem should be able to remove it and add in a new one, got under it last night and tried to pull the roll bar down to see if it would shift easily but it seemed to be stuck in place. I figured it might just be the other linkage holding it place, went to try and remove this and found there were no flat sides to the bottom section of it. Every time I try to unbolt it the whole ball join moves! So short of sawing through it I've no idea how to remove the bastard thing. Does anyone know of any trick to shift this or even if I have to remove it too bring the roll bar down.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just unbolt where it bolts to chassis. and take the rollbar off completely.

Oh by the way. Telling us what you drive helps an awful lot.....

Sorry what a ####! In my haste to put in as much detail as possible I missed the obvious, I'm in a Disco II TD5 on a Y reg.

So once you dissconnect the roll bar from the chassis I'm still not sure how I remove the linkage that has no flat edges too it, also would I need to dissconect the ACE in order to do that as it seems attached.

1. To remove the stuck ball you can either use an allen key on the threaded shaft if there is a hole for one; or get your trusty angle grinder and go straight through the nut.

2. You don't need to touch the ACE.

Cheers Dave, looks like I'll be taking an angle grinder to it as I'm not able to find a hole for an allen key.

Thanks for the help chaps.
