A lot of thought went into Clive's design so that it would not trap water and mud but would be plenty strong enough and easy to flush out if required.
The only bad press you'll hear about Clive are from others selling expensive, inferior, ill fitting, and thinner pattern parts from China.

Twas only me being silly
Probably another 12months or so and I'll be looking at replacing my crossmember, and this is what I'll be replacing it with.
