I have a feeling that this may be optomistic and i may be try to avoid the inveitable

Front offside has decided that it will rattle. I have had a crawl around underneath and identified it to the front near side wheel.

All bolts appear tight (including wheel) I thought at first it would be the metal plate nr the brakes but it is not or lose exhaust. It has that sort of loss thin metal rattle sound.

The optpmistic bit is has anyone had similar and any hits in order to negate taking to the whole assembly off.

Cheers in anticipation.

I'll put money on it being the front brake pads rattling in the caliper.

Cure? Fit new pads and fixing kit.

... with a smear, thin smear, of copaslip on the back (piston side) of the pads and on the spring clip/pin.

Pads are only a few months old. Did not appear to be much play in them. But i will check them and refit thay have only done 1000 miles.

If i rock the landie there appears to be knocking from the hub assembly.

having read a few posts on other sites and bits i drove in to work and there was no rattle when appyling the brakes so i am happy it is the brakes now i need to try to find a anti rattle clip of pads top stop the rattle.

any ideas i have a 300 tdi on a p plate auto
