Hi. Is this the original radio connector for a 1993 Defender?

If so — what’s it called, please?

I want to fit a radio and need to adapt a more normal ISO connector to plug into this. Or I could cut it off and replace it with something else if it’s been added later.

Thanks very much.

If it were me, I wouldn’t bother messing around with adapters — it’s just easier and more reliable to cut it off and wire in a standard ISO plug. Most modern head units use ISO anyway, and it’ll save you headaches down the line.

Thanks. I’m actually putting in an older radio so it has something even less standard on the back!

The thing that’s plugged into it in this pic ends in an ISO plug. So yes it’s probably easiest to cut off the one in the vehicle and replace it.

Thanks again.
