Hello all, just picked up my new (to me) Discovery, 04, ES Premium
,V8, Gas converted, loving it...going to be asking loads of questions over the next few weeks and i'm sure this is the right place to get some answers..first question: the radio/satnav are all working fine, but looked all though the paper work and cant find a radio code and soon wish to fit a nokia blue tooth hands free device (taken from my old car) and will need to unplug the stereo to install the bluetooth, my question is can i get the code from the stereo unit ? might it be viewable in the settings some where,dont really want to have to pay Land rover a £10 fee..thanks for any help and ifthis has been covered before please forgive me...thanks in advance steve

Think you need to get it from Land Rover, however some owners including me have disabled the code feature (in case the battery is disconnected), I've taken the following from the audio manual

To reduce the risk of theft,Discovery
radio/cassette and CD players are programmed
with a four digit security code.Once activated,
this code prevents the unit from functioning if it
is illegally removed from the vehicle.There are
10,000 different codes -making your radio
equipment valueless to a thief unless he has the
correct one.In addition,each unit is further
protected by a time delay penalty system that
effectively defies even the most systematic
attempt to break the code.
NOTE:If an incorrect code is entered,a one
minute time delay is imposed before a second
code can be attempted.Each time a wrong code
Activating the code
Your dealer will have correctly activated the
security code before you took delivery of the
vehicle.This will be confirmed whenever you
switch the unit on by ‘CODE ’ appearing B IEFLY
in the display.
If this display is absent,the radio will still work,
but will not be protected by the security code.If
this is the case,you should activate the code by
keeping the ‘up ’ tuning button depressed while
turning the set on (a two-tone bleep will sound).
Before activating the code,ensure that you have
the Security Information card with the security
code on it.

So to turn it off would be the same

Thanks for that, mine must not have the "CODE" function activated as only see the LANDROVER logo briefly when i switch my unit on....thanks again...steve
