I've just joined and have a query about the radio code for my Freelander 2 (2009). Inside my service book there is a sticker with 4 digits, a barcode, and the words 'Detach-Keep Safe'. I'm guessing that this might be the radio code but I wonder if anyone knows if this is likely to be the case? Also, I managed to smash the display of the radio head unit and am purchasing a replacement from a breaker - am I right in thinking that the code relates to the radio itself and not the head unit? Any advice much appreciated!

Looks like the radio code. Try it, if not can you fix yours with plastic parts from the 2nd unit and not swap any electronincs?

The one from the breaker will have its own code. You can obtain a code by entering the radio serial number into a website and for a token amount they will tell you the code. For radios original to the vehicle, a main dealer can supply the code but you need to have the logbook. Therefore, a dealer will not be able to supply the code for a replacement radio.

My FL2 doesn't need a radio code (Alpine High Line unit), but I don’t know about the FL2 Low Line units. My D3 had the Low Line HU, which didn't need a code either.
