Hi,Did land rover ever do a r380 gearbox for there defender 3.5 v8s,as i am resto moding a series 3 im looking for the strongest gearbox that i can mount to my 3.5.i have found plenty of discovery r380s but cant find any for a defender to bolt up to a v8 without alot of buggering about with internals.

they did quite a few v8 r380s to fit defenders but all have long bell housing as v8 is shoved to front of engine bay with def style front
