Hi all,

Just a quick question about tyres...

I noticed that my Freelander's tyres don't all match. On the front are Kumho Solus 215/65/R16. The rear has Goodyear Wrangler 215/65/R16.

I understand that the tyres need to match left and right but do they have to be identical front to rear also (in terms of brand and model) or is it ok as long as the sizes are the same?

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

It's fine as long as the rolling diameter is the same or as close as. Search the forum as there are loads of threads about it.

Your tyres are 'nominally' the same size - so you should have no problems as long as you have the pair with most tread on the rear wheels. :)

... I'll go and check now ;-)

Thanks.

UPDATE - Rear has more tread than front so all ok ;-)

Hi tollerance of only 5mm allowed front to rear, is your VCU hot after a run ?

Hi - I haven't checked that but I can do it tomorrow. So if I do a run of say... ordinary urban roads for 10 miles then stop and touch the VCU, how warm should it be? Should I be able to comfortably keep my hand on it or only keep it there for a few seconds?

Thanks,

Andy.

Been here a couple of months ago.......... if it's hot you have a problem, it should be warm.
