Im hoping to look at buying another Disco tomorrow.
Im comprehensively insured and also insured to drive other vehicles third party only (checked policy) not owned by me.
As the new car will be in my partners name will I be insured just to get car home ?
As far as I new this is perfectly legal but just want to check.

The short answer is no. Even if your own insurance covers you third party on other vehicles, that vehicle has to be insured elsewhere to be street-legal.

Best for u to confirm with your insures, that's why insurance companies sell short term vehicle insurance for this purpose.

Agree with discool however if your buying from a garage then sometimes they give you a short period of insurance to get it home and sort out a proper insurance policy, you will probably be covered then.

If not insure it now in I'm guessing in your partners name to start on the day you want to pick it up then your all covered!
