hi all,
hope i get an answer this time, i have an 2000 ES td5, and following on from my earlier problem i hoped i would have an answer on, as i had no suggestions, i decided to strip the multichanger and clean the lens, so to get to the multichanger i moved the drivers seat to the forward limit,(electrically) but now its stuck so far forward i can not even get in.

has anyone any idea how to solve this

To be honest people won't give answers if they don't have them, so if no one answers no one knows, or you didn't leave it long enough for someone to answer, to be fair it is a landrover forum, engines and gearboxes and leaks... CD changers? In a way its good, because you don't get people pretending to know things and just talking bollocks.

Regarding the seat, it would seem you possibly have lost power to the motor, get a meter across the feeds and see if you have a supply to the motor (while pushing the switch), if yes then its a local problem with the motor, if not then its a control issue.

Check all connections, maybe when it was going so far forward it pulled a wire.

thanks for both replies, i appreciate that being a landy site, its would smell more of oil and desiel, but these things are getting more sophisticated these days, i just thought that there would be a greater wealth of problems being sorted out by the knowledgable, and being shared rather than going back to hunting around the "nearly like but not quite" sites, i have been banging my head on this for a while, and as you say looking at hifi forums, all well and good, but does the answer really work for a landrover item??

regarding answers, i am a mod of a couple of sites, and i do try to answer the unanswered posts, even if its just to say its been seen, (and the post getting a bump so that it can be seen again )so that the member does not think he is being ignored, as the member normally starts to think he has asked a stupid question, and no one wants to reply, so i do appreciate your replies, with a couple of things for me to look at

well i have solved my problem with the seat, however not really sure of the cause.
after reading the manual, i checked that my ignition key was in position 2 and i had all the movements but not the in and out, so in desperation i started the engine, and lo and behold it worked, so maybe it needed some extra ommpf so i am pleased i do not need to do any dissecting
