Already searched this but not really got a definitive answer.
My power steering box is leaking from the seal above the drop arm. My question is will this leak be the cause of my power steering being heavy at low revs and will replacing the seal cure it, or is this just telling me the box is worn and needs replacing.
Cheers

I would think as long as there was fluid in the resivoir then it shouldn't be heavy as long as there's no trapped air in the system.

I recently replaced the same seal in my steering box and it only lasted 6 days off roading before it blew out completely. There is the possibility the seal wasn't seated correctly but I'm guessing that seal leaking is a sign of other internal seals going or internal problems which would be why my new seal fsiled so quickly. I Ended up swapping the full steering box for a spare I had.

Cheers mark.
