Hello All,

I have a 2005 Freelander Sport Auto. A couple of times recently I've open the car as normal with the fob, put the key in the ignition as normal and there has been a complete loss of power, car totally dead! I've open the bonnet and juggled the battery about (which is relatively new and showing a full power light) left the car for a few moments and the power comes back. At first I thought it was the immobiliser but it's definitely a power loss as the trip computer resets itself as does the radio.

It happened once last years and I put it down to a one off but it's happened twice this week.

Any thoughts anyone or do you think Its just a wiring issue?

A while ago, could be a year or so, I remember a similar issue, turned out to be the ignition barrel on the steering column had worn out or something. Could be worth a search. Or maybe someone with a better memory will post a response.
