Hello All!

I was checking on my fuses over the weekend, and came across this..

I'm hoping someone recognizes that! I couldn't see anything obvious for it to be plugged into!

Could be fag lighter supply, looks like it has a white/red wire which is normally backlighting from memory
 
Okay that would make sense!

My rear wiper isn't working and so was wondering if there was a correlation between the two..!
 
There are a lot of spare plugs on my wiring loom too. I just assumed they were there because it is a generic loom and they related to accessories that I didn't have. I've just added some new instruments to mine and most of the instrument lighting wires on my 2006 TD5 are brown/orange. The white/orange wires were ignition switched lives. Brown wires are often some sort of live supply. Does it look like anything that might go on a switch or a relay for the rear wiper?

I'll crack out the multi meter and see if I can trace it back to a switch or something!

Okay so it turns out I didn't realise you twist the switch to turn it on! So that's that!

Related - how do you 'fire' the front washers, I've tried pressing the end in, flicking it up, down, in and out and still can get the liquid to squirt out!!

You press the end of the stalk in.

If not working you either haven't got fluid, the pipes are blocked or disconnected or the pump has failed.

Or the switch has failed lol

Okay no I have definitely tried that!
I'm assuming the rear and the front share the same tank and pump, thus it has to be a blockage or a loose pipe! Will investigate tomorrow :)
 
I was going to post and tell you that it's where the AirCon harness connects to the main harness (C0786) - but, you've already discovered that :D

If you don't have AirCon fitted, the wiring in that connector can be utilised for other things.

Terminal 1 - Brown/Slate - Permanent Live, from Fuse 19 (5A) in the passenger compartment fuse box

Terminal 2 - Brown/Orange - Permanent Live, From Fuse 18 (20A) in the passenger compartment fuse box

Terminal 3 - Brown - Permanent Live from Fusible Link 4 (60A) in the engine compartment fuse box

Terminal 4 - White/Orange - Ignition-Switched Live, from Fuse 7 (5A) in the passenger compartment fuse box

You can use 6.3mm male terminals to connect to the individual terminals.

But, a better way is to use the proper 4-way male connector -

Thanks Paul, actually that'll be really quite useful as I was looking where to get sources from for a 12v power supply in the cubby box I'm putting in today...

Now if only there was someone who sold these... Hmmm... :)
