After trolling through hundreds of threads looking for info for various problems I feel need to beg everyone who posts a problem to please close the thread with the conclusion and if successful the solution used.
If you seek information from others do the decent thing and put some back.

Rant over and back to searching.:(:(:(

What exactly are you looking for Don?

Hi Guy's,

Looking for info on a couple of things. Harmon Kardon stereo has only ever played from passenger side speakers. It just hisses from the drivers side. Also aircon has a leak from the condenser. It has never worked while I have had the car so I want to make sure compressor etc is ok before re-gas. Just getting info together at the moment as I have a cracked rib and won't be playing with the RR for a week or two.

Agree with you about closing threads though probably as guilty as the rest on that account! Your speakers problem: The head unit is only a pre-amp that sends out low-level signals. The power amps are in each door and one for the sub. So you can try a few things (once your rib heals). Swap the door amps around. If it still only plays on the passenger side its a problem at the head unit or the wiring harness to the driver's side. If it now plays on the driver's side but not the passenger's its the door amps. This is assuming first of all the the speakers are ok. Proceed by elimination and you'll find it.

AC compressor won't operate if there is low pressure in the system as there are pressure switches to protect it. However you can run it directly from a 12V source (not for too long!) to see if it works.

Good luck!
