hi
can any one help we own a m reg 300 tdi defender
its got engine power the gears seam to engage but
their is no drive and i have no hand brake
please can anyone help

you've got a broken rear halfshaft (or possibly the diff).

Does it move with the diff lock engaged?

it sounds daft but it's been done before.. is the transfer box in neutral?

If that was the case his handbrake would work. Something has broken either rear half shaft, or diff. Did it make any unusual noises when it happened? You should be able to drive it in front wheel drive with the centre diff lock engaged have a listen for anything coming from the rear end.

it aint.. but it will...
