Hi. I have a 2 ltr deisel Freelander W reg. The Clutch slave cyclinder valvce went today and I've been told by a garage that the fluid from the valve would probably have leaked on to the clutch and as such we'd need to replace the valve and the clutch costing in excess of £700. The kind AA man reckons it's a common freelander problem and that replacing the valve would be about £100 exclu labour. Is this true or am I being conned. Would be great to hear from anyone who knows or has had this problem themselves. Thanks

Sam, ask in the Freelander section - you'll suffer less **** taking for owning it, and may even get a straight answer! ;)

Oh, and welcome!!

I had to google w reg ,says its 2000.
This STC000180 CLUTCH MASTER & SLAVE CYLINDER ASSY | Freelander 1996>: Clutch | shop | www.lrseries.com | L. R. Series might do ,but you might need 8510210 KIT CLUTCH REPAIR | Freelander 1996>: Clutch | shop | www.lrseries.com | L. R. Series because your clutch might be on its way out.
You should be able to price the clutch repair kit at any local motor factors.

If you don't have one already ,get yourself a Haynes manual.
Most of the advice you will get on lz will be from non fl owners, who know **** all about fixing their own model, but feel superior to us who bought the base model.
