Hi Guys,

Haven't been on for a while, here's one to rack your brain.
I have just been out in my p38 and the passenger seat vibrates a lot when I get to 70mph. I have put new viscous coupling in transfer box, I have done radius arm bushes, had wheels balanced recently. It is still doing it. It will only vibrate at 70 or faster.

Any thoughts, would be grateful.

Tyre delaminating have you put rears on front etc to see if vibration moves to steering wheel

No I haven't, the noise seems to be coming from the centre of the car ie drive shafts. I have replaced boths ujs on both shafts.

I installed one of those for ar lass, got the part number from James. :)

You have checked the security of the seat fixings ? ...

Just asking !!!

Mine did the seat shake but not at 70, more like 55. Was wheel balance. Worth checking again as some tyre places are really crap at it. It needs to be dead right. As suggested, may get a clue from swapping front to rear.

Either wheel balance or a dodgy tyre IMO.

incorrect wheel balance will be noticed around 55mph 70 mph seems a bit high to me,was they balanced on a hi or low speed balancer ?

It also makes a loud humming noise from the center of the car but as soon as
I drop to 68mph all vibration goes and the hum goes too.

I'd swap tyres front to back as already suggested, a simple way to eliminate tyres. Just swapped mine and aquired a vibration:mad:
