Hi all
My 1991 Disco failed its MoT yesterday. Whilst most of the problems are easily fixed (Discs, Pads, Shocks etc) the remaining two are causing some minor concern, and its these two I could do with advice about....

First problem: I need to replace the Shock Absorber Mounting, both Near side and Off side are shot. Anyone know of a parts supplier ? They are cylondrical cone shaped about 10 inches high. Even the genuine Landrover Part number would be useful.

Second Problem: The rear seat belt (inner wheel arch) anchorage is pretty rotten, and needs welding. The Garage quoted me a whole pile of money for all the work, but I want to do it myself. I'm not a welder, and was wondering if the inner arches are available to buy ? If so, how easy or difficult are they to fit ? Failing that how much do you think a welder would charge (that is reasonable) to sort the problem ?

Thanks

Adrian

All the parts (shock turrets, rear side door inner wheel arch panel) are available from Craddocks or Paddocks via mail order, either by phone or t'internet. The arch should only take a competant welder 2 to 3 hours to complete (in my opinion (32 years experience)). Barry
