As far as I know the liners are not replaced on a one for one basis as there is probably slight corrosion behind it. An alternative fix is to have the block machined and "Top Hat" liners fitted-all 8 of them. This could be as expensive as a new short engine which is around £2000 after the cost of new pistons etc. is taken into account. I would think that the liner problem caused your engine to overheat, has this caused further problems?????
