Going to look at a P38 today which has running boards fitted. Handy but not necessarily my cup of tea.

Question is... If I remove them will big holes be left anywhere a la light guards? Or is all the fitting gubbins under the car out of the way and thus invisible when you take them off?

If there a Landrover fitment they mount to chassis rails so no unsightly holes don't know about after market ones

Most running boards fit to chassis - after market versions use same fixing points. Cant see them once running boards are off. It's amazing the amount of crap the boards stop from hitting the sills - like a giant mudflap.

If there origanal id be interested in buying them from you
If you come to mine ill even take them off for you:)

+1 on that :)

Mine are fitted to the chassis so there wouldn't be any holes if I took them off. With regard to you lights guards, when I removed mine I just put the small screw back into the threaded rivet, it looked better than just a hole and kept water and other **** out.

Thanks for the replies chaps. The P38 I went to see today ended up being a total dog (non functional EAS, duff hvac, mayonnaise in the oil cap etc etc) so it was a moot point in the end.

The hunt continues!
