Hello

I recently bought a replacement bonnet catch (driver's side, UK) to replace the existing one which wasn't working well.
The old one only had one bolt holding it in, so it would hang slightly and get jammed.

I replaced it, along with a new set of bonnet cables (pain to fit!)

If I remove the latch bolt from the bonnet and push it in, it pops out again no problem.
But when I attach it back to the bonnet and push the bonnet shut, I can't release it again.

Has anyone had a problem like this? Not sure if it's an issue with the catch, the latch bolt, or the cables

I bought Britpart cables for mine, and they were a little too long so didn't release the catches when I pulled the lever inside.

I couldn't find a way to adjust anything so I ended up putting a cable tie at the bonnet catch end (just in front of the nipple) to effectively shorten the cables. It pulls the latch earlier, so it opens further, and releses the bonnet. I'm not very impressed... but it was Britpart so it probably to be expected.

I also think positioning of the latches in the slam panel is quite important. Make sure they're exactly where Land Rover bolted them down.

Britpart is where I got mine too. Was thinking they might be a bit long.

I tried to line the bolts up with the cleaner metal on the bracket to get it close to the original LR position, but it's definitely not exactly as it was.

I might put a stack of small O rings on the end of the cable to shorten the distance the pin needs to travel, it seems it can't be adjusted
