Hi, my abs light has been coming on when I start the car and then goes out after moving forward in drive, but if I sit with it running stationary then the light stays on. Should'nt the light go out immediately after starting the engine? We've only had the car a few weeks and have'nt really got to know it yet, on a plus side just been on a 60 mile trip and computer says 38.7 mpg! better than I expected, it's been chipped and just had a service.

Perfectly normal...the light won't go out until you have moved a short distance and the ecu has checked the system and it can't do that with the car stationary.:behindsofa:

Read your owners manual, it states that the ABS light does not go out until the car is moving. If you do not have the owners manual, download RAVE which includes the owners manual.
Don't believe the on board computer if the car has been chipped, if it's like mine it wll over read by between 2 and 5 mpg I presume beacuse the fueling change occurs after the engine ECU if you have a plug in such as a PSI Power box. I suggest you reset the trip and do a tank brim to brim if you want an accurate mpg figure.
