Hello,

Can anyone tell me where the spotlights for the A Bar on my P38 should plug in? I have just bought an A bar with standard land rover spotlights on it, and standard plugs, but cannot find if there is a socket anywhere to plug them into. Anyideas or will there not be sockets if the A Bar wasnt factory fitted?

Thanks

The loom has fog/spotlight sockets below the front valance. If you have the diesel, fog lamps are not fitted as they block the oil cooler-have a look behind the valance to see if there are sockets either side where the lamps would be. If they are there, you could pick up from them to your A bar. Additionally, if you intend using a custom switch in the console and the socket is also there-you may also need to have the BECM initialised to power them. Alternatively, you could fit a LR switch and "Hard wire" it via a relay linked into the headlamp circuit to switch them on.

If you are indeed talking about the A-bar lamps rather than the fogs then there is a separate loom that you will need (or will need to make up).

See RangeRovers.net • View topic - Front Spotlights... for my long winded post about them, it does have pictures of everything though so do have a read and hopefully everything will be sorted for you.

Thank you for all of your help. The plugs were not to be found so as suggested i made up a relay circuit coming straight from the battery and switched by the full beam with no breaker switch so they come on with full beam all the time now. Looks much smarted with the a bar fitted! Thanks for all of your help and suggestions

Matt
