Hi.
Please someone tell me, where can I find the original factory wires to plug spotlights into on the P38 RR? Just got two factory spotlights and would be nice to use the wires...
Thanks.:blabla:

Tucked up behind the front bumper close to where the openings are for the lights. They may not be there if you have a diesel.

Hi.
Thanks. I am talking about the spotlights and not the foglights. The ones for the spotlights are there too? I have a 4,6 modell. These lights, which I have got off the E-bay are the original Land Rover spotlights...I have had a look, but not below the bumper line...

Ok..you already have the factory fitted fog lights in the bumper.
There is no extra spare wiring for additional spot lights, you will have to wire them through a new relay, fuse and feed the relay coil from the existing fog light supply and run a separate live feed to the spot lights from the battery via the fuse and relay normally open contacts. They will then come on when you put the fog lights on. If you want them to come on with the main beam instead, run the relay coil feed from the main beam live. That way, you will not require an extra switch for either option

You see, why I am asking this, because these lights have original Land Rover connectors on them, to be plugged in to the wiring harness. All cars have got the same wiring loom, regardless of the amount of extra equipment used on them. Would be nice to avoid the extra work....

Right...I have had the radiator etc. out of my 4.6 a couple of times and am fairly certain that there are no spare connections on the loom in that area. You are right when you say the plugs for the fog lights are part of the loom. As diesel P38's do not have fog lamps fitted into the bumper because the oil cooler is obstructed, it could well be that these lamps are an option to enable external fog/spot lamps to be fitted. The connectors on them would plug into the unused bumper light sockets, a switch fitted into the blank space in the centre console and the becm fog lamp function enabled. maybe someone will post that there are other spare connectors on the loom, but I am not aware of any. In which case it's a relay job.

Did you notice whether they were diesels or V8's?? cos it's the only safe option for the diesel because of the oil cooler obstruction problems. I know extra lamps can, and are fitted to V8's on nudge bars but I am sure they are relay switched.

i have them on mine and they are taped in!!! they are coming off soon they are a bit tacky even though they are genuine items!

they come on with high beam

Issue solved, thanks to Gav from sunny Rotherham...
Need to buy extra wiring harness, this can be original (very expensive, or Ring for a more acceptable sum).
Thank Gavin!

no worries mate, thats what forums are for!!! will look forward to borrowing a bit of elbow grease on that paintwork of mine!!!
