Hi guys. I kinda had a bit of an argument with a concrete post a few weeks ago. My rear bumper is a bit twisted and I can't open my rear door which is a pain as I go on holiday in 5 weeks. Lol. I can't get the bumper off without damaging the bolts and I can't heat the bumper to reshape it as I don't have access to a blowtorch anytime soon. My neighbours kindly said they could get it off and weld a new one on, only problem is I can't get hold of a cheap enough one and would be a pain welding as it's so close to fuel tank. Lol. Any more suggestions? Thanks

Have a look on ebay for a HD Tubular Bumper. It will say it has high lift jacking points but ignore them, they aint that good. Other than that you should be able to find a tubular 6mm steel bumper for around £40.

As for not damaging the bolts on the first one, the two behind the tow bar are pretty easy to do, with a bit of fiddling i managed to get a pair of mole grips onto the nut at the top so i could take them two out. And the other two are inside the cavity left when you take the lights out of the bumper. The ones in the cavity are normally like new cus theyve had reasonable protection. Main issue is getting the ones out the bottom.


PS.... Have you tried smacking it with a big hammer?

Whenever I've taken mine off, I've just undone the two large 17mm bolts that secure the bumper to the brackets at the back of the chassis, the whole bumper just slides off then.

as above but if bolts cant be undone cut bumper away so you can get at rear nuts and chisel/gring off them just fit 2x 10mm nut/bolt

I have a reasonable 200tdi rear bumper available, I'm upgrading, its in good condition I suppose.
