Evening all, I have a 02 plate freelander TD4 and all was running well until I just done a oil, oil filter and air filter change. Now the engine management light wont go out on start up. I did slightly over fill the engine oil which I have now drained off, but still that light. does it need re setting (this is my first freelander). If not any ideas....Please help as starting to get stressed.
cheers Andy

The EML should not come on by doing what you describe.

Did you do anything else at all?

No nothing apart from drop the under tray, drain the oil, fit new oil filter then change the air filter. Did notice that where the electrical plug goes into the brake reservior the plug reciever is cracked but looking behind all looks in place. I have looked over for any plugs etc i might have knocked but nothing.

That one won't cause the EML problem. My reservoir sensor broke years ago and the brake warning light came on, that was all. I just disconnected it and put a wire link in the plug to fool the light into staying off :)

Evening all. many thanks for all your help and pointers. Took the plunge and took the freelander to a local garage who had the diagonsic ? equipment and it was showing a fault with the low pressure side of the fuel system. Turns out the fuel filter had never been change in it life. One new filter and no light. .....hopefully
