i bought some disco wheels with ok at tyres for me rangie the other week which are 235/85/16 just tried em on :rolleyes: they looks a bit big :) will they be ok with me standard springs or are they gonna foul the tops of the arches:confused:
 
shud be alright, so long as you've got your bump stops in place,

try it, make a big mound and drive up it on one side, up to max articulation, and you'll find out if it rubs, best to do it under controlled situations and low speed eh?

if they do foul, either extend the bump stops with a plate, or buy extended ones, cheap as chips
 
i'll try n give it a go, there's a 6 foot high earth bank outside me workshop that should do :D just a bit worried coz it they rubs i think me rusty arches'll fall off:eek:
 
think thats what im running, they do foul slightly when at max articulation but not too much of a problem
 
i only got standard bump stops at the mo and they're a bit hard to see coz i found a nice big patch of mud on the way to work this mornin :D i'll look into some bigger jobbies ;)
 
i had 235/85 r 16s on my disco with no lift just pull the body work out a bit and alter the steering lock it will be fine :D
 
haven't had a chance to chuck the wheels on and see yet, i'm gonna do it tomorrow. i had to make a deal with the mrs :mad: if i takes er shoppin in the mornin she'll let me stop at the workshop on the way home :rolleyes: so i'll let you know tomorrow :)

well i tried em on, managed to avoid any spillage of shopping an all :D :D
took a couple of piccies so you can see :)
the rear tyres rubbed on the mudflap hanger with about an inch to go before it hit the bumpstop, i couldn't quite get the front to hit the stops on the slope but it was also about an inch off the bumpstop touching down and was ok but looks like it would touch the arch on full lock
are extended bumpstops going to work ok or will they simply restrict axle articulation?
i guess ideally i'd need 2" springs n shocks :(

once me ickle boy realised i was gonna drive up summat i couldn't keep him outa the car sp i told him he could have a go and i'd take a piccie of it:D

Any problems changing from 265/75/16 on disco 1 alloys to 235/85/16 or 7.5 r16 on steels?
