Hi guys, i am not the best of mechanically minded person, but it has come to my attnetion due to notcing oil on my drive that i have a leak from the driveshaft i believe, or ball joint??

its spraying oil into mudguard, front bumper and inner arch??

is it a massive worry whats the likely issue thanks, i'm away for a week with family and cant get into garage for a weeks time, will it be okay, or could anything worse happen, safety is my priority

thanks

get a cv kit fitted. you are much better using grease rather than oil in them. fill it with grease while you are away , then get it sorted when you get home.

Bearing in mind the "not mechanically minded" comment, the item you need is called one-shot lube. It comes in squeeze tubes and you need one for each swivel housing. Drain the oil, squirt in the one-shot and it should hold for a while, sounds like you need the swivel oil seals replacing, pig of a job or can be at least.

If you've got that much oil, all from one leak and it has only just started then you should be worried. If it is from the swivel, as the other replies assume, then that is usually just a trace of oil on the inboard side of tyre beneath the leaking swivel after the vehicle has been parked for awhile.
