Having problems starting my 1971 Land rover it is the old 2.5 diesel with timing belt starter motor is slow but always used to start. I t has been on my drive for a couple of months. I have fitted a new battery. It seems to be getting no fuel to the injectors. opened the bleeder on the fuel filter getting fuel up to there, I have cracked the pipes on the injectors but getting no fuel. not sure where to look next I am open for suggestions

Open the bleed nipple on fuel pump hand pump till diesel shows tighten bleed nipple , slacken injector pipes at injectors turnover with battery till fuel shows at injectors close pipes and try again.
No fuel at injectors pump pistons could be sticking.

can I ask where the bleed nipple on the pump is (i could not work it out)

Check 12v connection at the stop solenoid too.

Good point you will need the stop solenoid energised to bleed the injection pump.
