Hi all, my Discovery1 v8 auto has decided that it will throw another problem at me. Basically when I start it up it is all fine, select either Drive forward or Reverse and there is a whining / whirring noise, select neutral and it goes quiet again. This just happened overnight, no transmission problems, oil level good, oil a nice red colour [not brown or burnt] and smells like new atf [last changed about 500 miles ago when auto box oil cooler pipe burst !.]. It still drives ok just the flaming noise. Any ideas ?. I think it is the torque converter but will gladly be proved wrong [hopefully cheaper].
