I had a very irate driver pull up beside me tonight saying I had no brake lights and he had nearly hit me up the arse in his escort, well I know who would have come off worse if he had. I thanked him for telling me all the same.

When I got home sure enough nothing working brake light wise, checked the fuse which is No1 with a 15amp fuse and that is fine, checked the wires in the connector that goes to the NS rear light cluster and boy was that a job to get at with dickie seats in the way.

I put a multi-meter across it and it gives only 0.45v when the brake pedal is pressed? Any ideas on what my problem may be, I am thinking of changing the switch on the pedal next.

Test don't guess ,bypass the switch by bridging the two wires that are used with the brake light circuit first.

It was the bloody switch!

I pass "Island 4x4" on my way home from work so £12 and half an hour later and its all working once again.
